Fish tanks
Fish tanks are the glass or strong Plexiglas boxes or rectangles that you use to create your aquarium habitat for fish. The fish tank is the basic starting place. Just because you own a fish tank, though, doesn’t mean that you have an aquarium.
The aquarium includes many things, such as a tank, filters, heaters, lights, rocks, plants and more. The fish tank is part of the overall aquarium, in fact it is a very necessary part, but it is not the only purchase required when making a home for your fish.
Fish tanks were once all made of glass. The down sides to that is that glass can break easily and it is very heavy. Now, many fish tanks are made of acrylic or other strong synthetic materials.
