Why the Fish?

The fish symbol, often called the Ichthys, has been associated with Christianity since the early church. Early Christians used the simple fish as a discreet way to identify themselves and express their faith. The Greek word for fish, “Ichthys,” was understood as an acronym meaning “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior.” Today, the fish remains one of the most recognizable symbols of Christianity, representing faith in Jesus Christ and reminding believers of His call to be “fishers of men.”

You can find the fish symbol displayed on countless cars, pickup trucks, semis, motorcycles, businesses, and churches around the world. Its enduring presence is a reminder that the Christian faith continues to be shared across communities, cultures, and generations.

For this site, the fish symbolizes our mission of discovering and sharing Christian music that points listeners toward Christ.
