Born and raised in South Florida, Jenn Chenoweth grew up surrounded by music and ministry. Her father is a pastor, while her mother is a church music director and professional pianist and harpist, so worship was woven into Jenn’s life from an early age. She began leading worship in her church’s children’s ministry at just nine years old, beginning a journey that would eventually take her from South Florida to Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where she became part of SEU Worship. During her college years, she appeared on several SEU Worship recordings and continued developing as both a worship leader and songwriter.
Jenn’s music is deeply connected to her own journey of faith. While growing up as a pastor’s daughter gave her a strong foundation in Christianity, she also spent years wrestling with fear, insecurity, and an understanding of God that was often shaped more by fear than by love. A particularly difficult chapter came in 2019, when an unexpected jaw injury developed into chronic TMJ pain that affected her ability to sing and lead worship for an extended period. Through that season, Jenn says God revealed deeper truths about His love and faithfulness, ultimately rekindling her desire to use music to encourage others.
That journey became the foundation for Jenn’s debut EP, Out to Get Me, released in 2025. The seven-song project is both autobiographical and worshipful, drawing on themes from Galatians 5 and Psalm 23 while blending synth-pop, reflective ballads, and intimate worship. The title contains a deliberate twist: Jenn once viewed God as a taskmaster waiting for her to fail, but came to understand that He was not “out to get” her in judgment. Instead, He was pursuing her in love—to find her, bring her home, and set her free.
That message gives Jenn Chenoweth’s music a distinctive sense of honesty and hope. Her songs speak openly about fear, doubt, surrender, and the process of learning to see God through the lens of His love rather than condemnation. Whether writing a contemporary pop anthem or a quiet worship song, Jenn’s desire is to point listeners toward the Father, Shepherd, and Friend she has come to know—and to remind them that God’s pursuit of us is ultimately a pursuit of freedom.

“Table Made For Us” is a beautiful expression of belonging, invitation, and the welcoming heart of God. Rather than presenting faith as something reserved for those who have everything figured out, Jenn Chenoweth points to a God who has already prepared a place for us. The imagery of a table carries a powerful biblical sense of fellowship: there is room, there is provision, and there is an invitation to come and share in what God has prepared.
The song also fits naturally within the larger themes of Jenn’s music. Her story has involved learning to move beyond fear and an understanding of God shaped by performance and condemnation, toward the realization that God desires relationship with His children. “Table Made For Us” captures that change in perspective particularly well. The emphasis isn’t on earning a seat at the table, but on recognizing that God is the One who made the table and extended the invitation.
Musically and lyrically, the song offers an encouraging reminder that the Christian life is ultimately about relationship with God and community with His people. For anyone who has ever felt like an outsider—unworthy, overlooked, or somehow not quite good enough—“Table Made For Us” offers a different picture: there is a place prepared, and the invitation is already there.

“Truth Comes Running” explores the freedom that comes when we stop hiding from God and allow His truth to meet us exactly where we are. Jenn Chenoweth approaches that truth not as something harsh or condemning, but as an expression of God’s kindness and love. The song reflects the realization that we don’t have to run away from God because of our failures, fears, or insecurities; instead, His truth comes toward us.
That message connects closely with Jenn’s own journey of learning to see God differently. For someone who has spent years believing that God is primarily concerned with our mistakes, discovering His grace can completely change the way we approach Him. “Truth Comes Running” presents that discovery with a sense of movement and hope: God isn’t standing at a distance waiting for us to become worthy; He is pursuing us with truth that brings freedom.
The song ultimately points toward the transforming power of encountering God as He truly is. When fear and false beliefs give way to truth, we are free to stop striving, stop hiding, and begin responding to God’s love. “Truth Comes Running” is therefore both a declaration of God’s character and an invitation to let His truth reshape the way we understand ourselves and our relationship with Him.

“Closest Friend” focuses on the deeply personal relationship believers can have with God. Rather than portraying Him as distant or unknowable, Jenn Chenoweth writes about God as someone who is intimately present through every season of life. The title itself captures the heart of the song: God isn’t merely someone we worship from a distance—He can become the One we know as our closest friend.
The song carries particular significance in light of Jenn’s broader journey of faith. Her music frequently explores the process of moving from fear and uncertainty into a deeper understanding of God’s character. “Closest Friend” reflects what happens when that understanding becomes personal. The God who once may have seemed intimidating or difficult to approach is revealed as trustworthy, compassionate, and near.
At its heart, the song is an invitation to draw closer to God through relationship rather than simply religious activity. It reminds listeners that prayer, worship, and faith aren’t merely obligations; they are opportunities to know the One who already knows us completely. “Closest Friend” offers a warm and reassuring picture of a God who remains present, listens, walks alongside us, and desires genuine relationship with His children.

“I’m Learning” embraces the reality that growing in faith is a process. Jenn Chenoweth doesn’t present spiritual growth as having every question answered or suddenly arriving at a place where everything makes sense. Instead, the song acknowledges the ongoing nature of discovering who God is, learning to trust Him, and allowing Him to reshape the way we see ourselves and our circumstances.
That honesty fits naturally with the themes running throughout Jenn’s music. Her journey has involved confronting fear, insecurity, and misconceptions about God’s character, and “I’m Learning” captures the humility of recognizing that there is still more to discover. Faith isn’t portrayed as perfection; it’s a willingness to keep following God even while we’re still learning what it means to trust Him.
The song ultimately offers encouragement to anyone who feels as though they should have their faith figured out by now. God is patient with us as we grow. “I’m Learning” reminds listeners that spiritual maturity doesn’t happen all at once. Sometimes the most genuine expression of faith is simply acknowledging where we are, remaining open to God’s leading, and continuing to learn as He walks with us.

“Still Small Voice”

“Still Small Voice” turns the listener’s attention away from the noise and distractions of everyday life and toward the quiet ways God speaks. The song reflects the biblical image of Elijah encountering God not in the powerful wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a gentle whisper. For Jenn Chenoweth, that imagery becomes an invitation to slow down, listen, and recognize God’s presence even when He isn’t speaking through something dramatic.
The song fits beautifully with Jenn’s recurring theme of learning to know God more intimately. When faith has been shaped by fear or by the pressure to constantly do more, it can be easy to overlook the quiet work God is doing within us. “Still Small Voice” offers a different approach—one centered on attentiveness and relationship. Sometimes hearing from God requires us to become quiet enough to notice that He has been speaking all along.
There is also a sense of trust woven through the song. God’s voice doesn’t have to compete with the loudest voices around us to be authoritative. In the quiet, He can bring clarity, reassurance, conviction, and direction. “Still Small Voice” encourages listeners to make room for that quiet encounter and to become more attentive to the God who desires not merely to be heard, but to be known.

“You Won’t Leave” is a reassuring declaration of God’s constant presence and faithfulness. At its heart is the simple but powerful truth that God does not abandon His people when circumstances become difficult, when faith feels uncertain, or when we struggle to find our way. Jenn Chenoweth presents that assurance in deeply personal terms, turning a statement about God’s character into an encouragement for anyone who has ever wondered whether they are facing a difficult season alone.
The message connects naturally with the larger story found throughout Jenn’s music. Her songs often explore the movement from fear toward trust, and “You Won’t Leave” brings that journey to a place of confidence. We may change, circumstances may change, and our emotions may change, but God’s commitment to remain with us does not depend upon our ability to have everything figured out.
As the closing song in Jenn’s Essential Songs selection, “You Won’t Leave” provides a fitting conclusion. After exploring God’s invitation, truth, friendship, our continuing spiritual growth, and the importance of listening for His voice, the song leaves the listener with a foundational promise: God is still there, and He isn’t going anywhere. It is a message of comfort and confidence that beautifully captures the heart of Jenn Chenoweth’s music.
