This week, FishWorship is excited to shine our Artist of the Week spotlight on Leanna Crawford, a Nashville-based singer and songwriter whose music combines honest storytelling with a message of faith and hope. A native of Washington State, Leanna began writing songs and poetry in her bedroom before pursuing music professionally, and her breakout song, “Still Waters (Psalm 23),” introduced her to a growing audience. The song went on to become a No. 1 Christian hit and Gold-certified single, while Leanna was named New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
Leanna’s story continues to unfold with the release of her sophomore album, Thank God, on July 24, 2026. The album reflects her journey through seasons of uncertainty, waiting, disappointment, and ultimately gratitude for God’s faithfulness. Its title track captures that perspective particularly well, as Leanna has described looking back and being thankful even for the times when God said “no,” “not yet,” or “wait a little longer.”
The release of Thank God also marked another milestone: on that same night, Leanna made her Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville. Performing on the Opry stage was a longtime dream, making the album release and Opry appearance a remarkable milestone in the same day.
And this already memorable season became even more special just days later. Leanna and her husband, former NBA player Cody Zeller, announced that they are expecting their first child, sharing the news with the simple message, “Family of 3 coming November.” The announcement came just days after the new album and Opry debut, adding an exciting new chapter to Leanna’s story as both an artist and a wife.
From “Still Waters (Psalm 23)” to Thank God, Leanna Crawford’s music continues to point listeners toward trusting God through every season—even when we don’t understand where the journey is leading. That’s a message that makes Leanna a fitting choice for this week’s FishWorship Artist of the Week.
