🏆 Artist of the Week

Each week, FishWorship shines a spotlight on a Christian artist whose impact reaches beyond the music itself. From established voices to emerging artists finding their own place in Christian music, our Artist of the Week series celebrates those who bring something meaningful to the genre through their faith, creativity, songwriting, and unique perspective. Our goal is to introduce listeners to artists worth discovering and recognize the many ways Christian music continues to grow, inspire, and make a difference.

This week, FishWorship is excited to introduce Christian singer, songwriter, and worship leader Chelsea Plank! Known for her work with SEU Worship and now stepping into an exciting chapter as a solo recording artist, Chelsea brings heartfelt vocals, an engaging contemporary sound, and a genuine passion for Jesus to her music. We’re looking forward to sharing her story and some of the songs that make her an artist worth getting to know!

Chelsea Plank

Chelsea Plank is an artist whose journey through contemporary Christian music brings together songwriting, worship leadership, ministry, and a genuine desire to help people experience a deeper relationship with Jesus. While many listeners are first discovering her through her recent solo recordings, Chelsea has already spent years contributing to the Christian music world through her work with SEU Worship. Her story is one of following God’s direction, developing the gifts He has given her, and finding opportunities to use those gifts in ways that reach far beyond a recording studio or concert stage.

At FishWorship, one of the things we enjoy most is discovering Christian artists whose music deserves a larger audience. There are so many talented singers, songwriters, worship leaders, and musicians contributing to Christian music, and we love introducing our visitors to artists they may not have encountered before. Some have enjoyed long recording careers, others are just beginning to find their place in the Christian music community, and many have interesting stories about how God has led them along the way. Chelsea Plank is a wonderful example of an artist whose musical journey gives us plenty to explore. Her experience with SEU Worship, her songwriting contributions, and her emerging solo career make her an especially enjoyable choice for our Artist of the Week.

A major chapter in Chelsea’s story began at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. In 2017, after visiting the university and experiencing a powerful season of worship on campus, she decided that SEU was where she wanted to be. She auditioned for the worship team that fall and quickly became involved in songwriting, creative development, and touring. Chelsea graduated in 2021 with a degree in Organizational Communication and later earned a master’s degree in Human Services in 2023. Her educational background and interest in outreach and missions reflect another side of her calling: a desire not only to create music, but also to help people and serve the broader Church.

SEU Worship is a particularly interesting organization because it is not simply a traditional church worship band. It is a worship movement connected to Southeastern University, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The collective creates music that grows out of the worship life of the campus and its surrounding community. Students have opportunities to participate in songwriting, recording, creative production, and worship leadership, gaining practical experience while developing their gifts in a Christian environment. Chelsea became one of the important creative voices in that community, eventually serving as SEU Worship director and helping shape the music and ministry of the collective.

One of the first songs many listeners may recognize from Chelsea’s work with SEU Worship is “Monday Morning Faith.” The song carries a message that is both simple and important: our relationship with Jesus should not be limited to Sunday morning. Faith is something we carry into our workplaces, our homes, our relationships, and all the ordinary moments that make up the rest of the week. The song began during a student songwriting session around a piano in Bush Chapel and became one of the standout recordings from SEU Worship’s Heart Cry album. Chelsea’s lead vocals help make it an especially memorable expression of everyday Christian faith.

The Heart Cry album was an important project for SEU Worship, reflecting a desire to return to the heart of worship rather than becoming overly focused on performance. The songs explore seeking God’s presence, sharing faith with others, and allowing our hearts to be shaped by His love. Chelsea played a significant role in the creative direction of the project, working alongside students and other members of the worship community. It is a wonderful example of how Christian music can grow out of a shared desire to worship and serve God.

Another important chapter came with SEU Worship’s Move of God (Live) album. The title song grew out of a season of intense worship and prayer on campus, when the community was experiencing lives being changed and a renewed hunger for God’s presence. Chelsea co-wrote the song and has spoken about the importance of a move of God being something that continues beyond a powerful worship service. True spiritual renewal should affect the way we live, the way we treat others, and the way we carry our faith into everyday life. That perspective gives the song a message that reaches beyond the excitement of a live recording.

Chelsea’s contributions to SEU Worship extend well beyond those two projects. She has been involved in songs including “What A God,” “Slower I Go,” “You Are Good,” “Send Me,” “Fruit Takes Time,” and “A Forgiving God.” Each offers a different perspective on Christian faith. “Slower I Go” encourages listeners to slow down and trust God’s timing. “You Are Good” is a joyful declaration of God’s faithfulness, while “Send Me” challenges believers to become the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching people who need compassion, encouragement, and hope. These songs demonstrate the range of Chelsea’s songwriting and her ability to contribute to music that works both as a personal expression of faith and as a meaningful experience for a congregation.

One particularly meaningful song in Chelsea’s SEU Worship catalog is “A Forgiving God.” Inspired by the parable of the prodigal son, the song reminds us that God’s love is not exhausted by our mistakes or failures. Its picture of a Father waiting for His child to come home is a beautiful reflection of the grace Jesus described in Luke 15. It is a message that reaches anyone who has ever wondered whether they have wandered too far or made too many mistakes to be welcomed back. The answer offered by the song is an encouraging one: God is still calling, and His arms remain open.

In 2026, Chelsea began sharing more of her own musical identity through solo releases. While her work with SEU Worship introduced her voice and songwriting to a growing audience, her solo recordings give listeners an opportunity to experience her music from a more personal perspective. “When You Give It Up,” the video featured at the beginning of this page, is a wonderful introduction to this new chapter. Its reflections on growing older, changing seasons, memories, and learning to let go give the song a relatable quality. There is an encouraging spiritual message beneath those familiar experiences: life changes, but we can trust God as He leads us into what comes next.

Her other solo recordings continue exploring different aspects of faith and the Christian journey. “Moonlight” brings a bright, upbeat sound and celebrates the freedom and joy of discovering God’s love. “I’m Going” is about trusting God enough to follow even when we cannot see exactly where the road leads. Both songs show Chelsea exploring the possibilities of contemporary Christian pop while keeping the message of faith at the center of her music.

Chelsea’s newest solo project, Make Me Willing – EP, adds another meaningful chapter to that journey. The title track expresses a prayer that many Christians can probably relate to: asking God to make us willing when our own hearts are hesitant. Rather than pretending that surrender always comes naturally, the song acknowledges that we sometimes need God’s help even to want what He wants for us. It is an honest and humble approach to faith, recognizing that spiritual growth is not simply a matter of trying harder, but of inviting God to work within us. The EP brings together that title song with “Moonlight,” “When You Give It Up,” and “I’m Going,” creating a collection that explores trust, surrender, freedom, and following Jesus.

What makes Chelsea Plank especially interesting to us at FishWorship is the combination of her experience and her willingness to keep moving into new creative territory. She has been part of a successful worship collective, helped write songs that are being sung by Christians around the world, participated in touring and ministry, and now has the opportunity to develop her own voice as a solo artist. Those experiences are connected by a consistent desire to use music as a way to point people toward Jesus.

We also appreciate that Chelsea’s story reminds us that Christian music is about more than a particular sound or style. Worship can be expressed through an energetic contemporary song, a reflective pop recording, a congregational anthem, or a quiet prayer asking God to change our hearts. The musical approach may vary, but the purpose remains the same: to honor God and encourage people to grow closer to Him.

We’re delighted to welcome Chelsea Plank to FishWorship as our Artist of the Week. Whether you’re already familiar with her work through SEU Worship or you’re just discovering her solo music, we hope you’ll spend some time exploring her songs and getting to know her journey. There is plenty to enjoy, and we’re excited to see where God takes her next. Welcome to FishWorship, Chelsea!
